Fourth of July means bbq and fireworks on sister Dot and Barney's patio. Ray and Jeri joined us for dinner and others dropped by later including neighbor Carolyn, our niece Lori, her husband Bill, and Bills's two daughters and their friend. Towards dusk, Barney loaded the golf cart with canvas folding chairs and set us up with prime seating on the fairway. Joining us on the grass were other neighbors from the 'Hood.
After the Country Club's fireworks display, Dot and I finished our wine on the patio, watching other displays. (Dot had to duck and run when the folks next door set off their big fireworks. She didn't want any debris falling on her head.) 'Hoodie Barb drove by in her golf cart around 10 pm on her way home and stopped to watch the fireworks with us until the sky was clear....around 11:30.
I was invited back for leftovers the next day.
Hmmmmm....Noticed in the July 2014 recreation picture of June 1955 that we are wearing similar outfits. Pure accident but it does seem to reflect our individual tastes even nearly 50 years later.
